another Meehan gravesite pic

Another pic of the Meehan gravesite from ancestry.com:

The caption (if anyone is in the area!) is: "St Mary's Cemetery in Frosses, Mountcharles, Donegal"

The stone to the left is for Charles, dies 1925. I think 'our' Charles (dies 1897) had a son Charles, perhaps this is him?

The stone to the right is for Edward Meehan of Salthill (Donegal), died Oct 1992 age 53. Not sure yet how Edward fits in.

Meehan & Griffiths

I know this stuff about our relations Owen & Charles Meehan is nothing new, but it is still neat to see the facts around it.

So, it seems they are in the Griffiths Evaluation in the 1850s. Last time, the direct links to Griffiths did not work, so you can reach it by going to aboutireland.ie:

https://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=doNameSearch&familyname=&firstname=&offset=40&countyname=&parishname=&unionname=&baronyname=&totalrows=58&PlaceID=1486747&wildcard=

This is in the parish of Inver, townland of Drumkeelan.

Donegal parish map:

https://cotyroneireland.com/maps/donegal.html

From that site:

Inver is #36 on the map, in lower left (Stranolar is #46, just to the right).

Same site, townlands map for Inver:
https://cotyroneireland.com/maps/inver.html
Drumkeelan is #38, lower right, bordering #30 which is Drumbeagh.

All that for this:

John, Charles, and Owen have land and homes in Drumkeelan, Charles and Owen have land in neighboring Drumbeagh. Note this is all very close to the village of Mount Charles.

This is 'our' Owen, great-great-great grandfather (great-grandmother Anne Meehan McBride's grandfather).

It appears in other records that Owen has a brother, John. Perhaps this is him as a neighbor? The "other Tom O'Grady" looks to be descended from John Meehan.

Is the Charles here Owen's son? Or perhaps his own father?

Drumkeelan is to the right, Owen & Charles are plots 37a, 37b, and 38. John is 36. Drumbeagh is to the left, Charles is 1a and 1b, Owen is #2.

This house stands at the confluence of all those plots, in what would have been a cluster of cottages in 1850s:

Charles Meehan, d. 1896

Charles Meehan, father of Anne Meehan McBride, grandfather to Anne McBride McCallion, dies 1896:

His son John is 'present at death'.  It is John who has a daughter Margaret who marries Dennis MacNiallais ... who's son Sean corresponded with Mom, Katherine, etc.

Note, I think 'MacNiallais' appears to be the right spelling, although some of their descendants have shortened it to McNelis.

On the same stone that Charles put up for his wife (Anne Glackin Meehan) and father, this larger pic shows entries for John and his wife:
