Michael McCallion and Kate Sheridan (Pop's brother)

I didn't realize they married BEFORE coming to the US.

Birth of daughter Anne, 1911:

Kate Sheridan McCallion immigration May 4, 1912:

Note that the next passenger is Michel Meehan of MountCharles! James has already married Anne McBride, so this could have been a cousin-in-law.

Kate's mother is Anne Sheridan of Cavan. Her destination is her husband at 124 W 33rd St, NY

Michael Meehan's father is Micheel of MountCharles, not sure how he ties in. His destination is his sister Ellen Meehan, 54 Ramsden (??) St, Brooklyn

Kate's family, 1901 census:

1911 census:

I called Calvary today and got the plot info: Section 43, Range 12, Plot V, grave #18. (they were not happy going back to 1913; I should have asked them instead to kid Kate who dies in 1957).

Michael's collection, part4

This post (part 4) and the prior one (part 3) are mostly about the McBride sisters who emigrate to Australia, all sisters of James McBride who marries Ann Meehan (all children of John McBride and Ellen Harron)

James Charles Craine (below) is the son of Mary McBride.

Posting this in order, so I'm assuming these pics correspond to the prior page.

Meehan / McBride tree

Work in progress! Trying to capture all the info on Meehans and McBrides recently received:

Notes:

1. two Ann Meehans! great-grandmother who marries James McBride, and great-great-grand aunt who marries Patrick Brogan
2. two Anne McBrides! grandmother who marries James McCallion and great-grand aunt who marries Michael Bogan
3. On far right, Dennis Mac Niallais marries Margaret Meehan. It is their two children, Sean and Sister Maire, who we're indebted to for gathering so much of this
4. Trying to track down how Norman McMahon fits in. Needs more research

more from Michael McCallion

 ... via Sister Maire:

BTW, Derek McNeill above is on ancestry.com, and is quite a family researcher!

Is it possible that mass cards were issued in 1917, when James McBride dies? Or is this from a later, memorial mass?

Here's another mystery: James McBride (and Anne Meehan McBride) appear to have been well off. Why do both their oldest sons (John and Charles) emigrate?

When James dies, his fortune goes to his daughter Susan's widow, Henry McNulty.

Meehan tree from Sean MacNiallais

From Michael McCallion, I received a bunch of stuff that he received from Sister Maire of Presentation Convent in Galway. She is now deceased, but appears to have been related to Sean Mac Niallais, and was trying to keep his research going.

This doc, for example, is a better version of the earlier tree we saw from Sean:

See #2 above. Sean MacNiallais and Sister Maire were both children of Margaret Meehan, son of John (Anne's brother)
